Henna is a plant with small, dark green, scented leaves. The leaves are dried and ground down into a powder. After adding liquids (usually lemon and essential oils or tea) to loosen the mix, it is piped or painted on to the body in elaborate patterns.

Henna is totally natural, safe and chemical free so can be used to create temporary tattoos that kids (and parents) will love. It will make a change from the usual face painting and will last longer (approximately a week if looked after).

Children love art, glitter and drawing so applying these temporary tattoos can be a fun party or event activity. The tattoos can have added bling with glitter and crystals and kids will love showing these off to their friends.

There’s a good chance that younger children won’t want to sit for too long so it’s best to keep designs much more simple to save them getting impatient!

Flowers, swirls, butterflies and polka dots are all popular designs, particularly for younger children and don’t take long to apply.
