Thinking of trying something new? Henna is an intriguing art form which has a rich cultural heritage spanning many countries and 5,000 years. This relaxed workshop will gently guide you through your first steps in mixing and applying henna in traditional North African and contemporary patterns. During the session you will have unlimited materials and you will receive a free henna kit to continue practising henna at home.
The workshop is suitable for both adults and accompanied children (all those aged under 16 must bring an adult companion). You will:
- Learn how to mix and apply henna paste onto the body
- Hear about henna’s history
- Make hand rolled cones to apply henna
- Practice simple North African and contemporary style patterns and designs
- Learn simple techniques to shade, fill and expand patterns
